Guastalla (Piazza Cinque Giornate)
Central but affordable

Overview
Guastalla is central, but off the beaten track. It’s quiet and residential, and ignored by tourists. It has the rich history of Milan – but with much cheaper prices!

You’ll find the 500-year-old Guastalla Gardens here. They’re the oldest public gardens in Milan.

Guastalla borders the University of Milan. It’s also only around 25 minute’s walk from Bocconi University. It’s ideal for students.

What can I do here?
Firstly:

You’ll spend hours in the Giardini della Guastalla.

Have a picnic next to the Baroque fish pool. You might even spot some turtles soaking up the sun!

Secondly:

Feel like doing some sightseeing? The Duomo di Milano is just a 15 minute walk away. You’re also a short walk from the rest of central Milan.

Thirdly:

Part of Corsa di Porta Vittoria runs through Guastalla. It’s a famous shopping street in Milan. Here, you’ll find famous brands such as Pandora and DKNY.

Fourthly? Use your imagination! Guastalla is your oyster.

Widowed fact

The countess of Guastalla created the Giardini Della Guastalla. She was a widow, and decided to shelter other widowed nobles. This prevented them from life in a convent. She created a college and gardens for them. Noble.
