The reason is very simple: it carries with it so much Roman-ness and still retains it.

Always on the cutting edge, with its many nightclubs, but winking at the past, at that place where on the street, on Sunday mornings, you can still smell the smell of laundry being hung out and the scent of sauces being prepared for the holiday meal. History passes on the walls. The architecture of the buildings is more than a century old, a construction of workers' lots where a community lives that claims its identity. Always.
