Paris’s 8th arrondissement is a prestigious neighbourhood that is home to 5-star hotels, high-end flats and the presidential palace. Prosperous tourists are drawn to the concentration of shops, restaurants and smart nightclubs that can be found in this area, rendering it one of the most expensive neighbourhoods in France’s capital city. The major attraction of the 8th district is certainly the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, bookended by the glorious Arch De Triomphe and the octagonal Place de la Concorde. Known for expensive housing, the 8th arrondissement really has it all: designer shops, museums, cinemas, and even the beautiful Parc Monceau! Although you can find residential pockets in streets set off from the nightlife areas, the 24/7 buzz is nonetheless the defining character of this central neighbourhood. Fun fact: You may recognise this arrondissement from the film ‘Taken,’ as Liam Neeson’s character meets with his policeman friend in front of the famous Fouquet’s bar!
