Overview
Greco is a quaint and historical suburb north of Milan.
In touch with its history, Greco has narrow streets and plenty of old architecture. Many of the original country houses, known as Cascines, are still in use today. Rustic and quite beautiful.
This is an excellent choice for students looking for a more local, less “studenty” area to live in near campus.
Located just below Bicocca, Greco is conveniently surrounded by all methods of public transportation to get to your job or lectures!
What can I do here?
Greco isn’t a party town, and it doesn’t try to be.
But what it is, is a fantastic hub. A place from which you can get anywhere else.
Students can walk to the Bicocca campus in 20 minutes, or take the bus and get there in 10!
The city centre is only 25 minutes away by public transport, so go have a day out!
But there are other local highlights, too.
Parco di Villa Finzi is slightly to the east. It is a stunning park with plenty of routes to walk, so bring a picnic and let the breeze ruin your hair!!
Not in the mood to go out? Stay local at Via Pigello Portinari, or the shopping centre near Via San Rafael delle Ande.

We’ve got a place that does pizza by the slice. Pizzeria da pino. And if you’re thinking “I need more than one slice of pizza,” well... you haven’t seen the size of the pizza slices yet.
Fiction fact:
Renzo is the main character in Italy’s most famous novel, The Betrothed. One night, Renzo sleeps on a porch in Greco as he makes his way to Milan. If he’d waited a few hundred years, he could have just taken the bus.
