Overview
Milan’s central train station is truly a work of art.
It’s a mixture of Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles and dates back to the 1930s.
It offers both national and international routes. This makes the area a tourist hub full of hotels and suits. It’s also filled with a variety of restaurants and commercial shops.
We’re not saying that Centrale is all about the station…
But it is.
And it’s the best location if you often travel - whether for business or pleasure!
What can I do here?
Centrale is true to its name.
(It’s in a very central location.)
You can reach the historic centre of Milan in under 15 minutes.
Corsos Buenos Aires and Corso Venezia are right around the corner. They’re the two most popular shopping streets in the area.
Centrale train station is also full of shops. Grab a sandwich there, before heading across the country for the weekend.
Need a break from the concrete jungle? You can take a stroll through the Giardini Pubblici Indro Montanelli.
It’s just a short walk from the station entrance. Autumn is the perfect season to go, when the leaves are changing colours. It even has a small natural history museum and a planetarium.
If you’re looking for a somewhere great to eat, look no further than Limone. They have food for every palette, but specialise in great seafood. Check out the frutti di mare platter – wow!
