Bruzzano
The town fit for a fitness-freak.
Overview
10km north of Milan, Bruzzano was originally a farm town and countryside retreat.
Today, it resembles an energetic teenager with a love of sport! Life here is tranquil, but active.
The 1,500 acre Parco Nord dominates the local landscape. In this vast and immaculate park, there are popular jogging routes throughout. Other sports facilities are also available for those with other hobbies.
As with many suburbs, Bruzzano is a commuter town. From here, the city centre is 20 minutes by train. 30 minutes by car.
So if you work in Milan, but want to keep your weekend exercise regime, Bruzzano is definitely the place for you!
What can I do here?
Weekends in Bruzzano are all about the outdoors. Life here is built around Parco Nord and exercise. If you’re coming to Bruzzano, don’t forget your trainers.
There are plenty of jogging paths to enjoy. The park is well looked after so no need to check for tripping hazards. Safe.
Or... Take it slow.
Read a book.
Maybe feed the ducks.
That’s what free time is for after all.
There’s also the Community Sports Centre in the park. Expect running tracks and football pitches.
For a challenge, why not cycle through Affori and La Fontana to get to the centre of Milan - it’s an 8km ride. Have fun!
If you prefer thinking to moving, you’ll want to go to the incredible Cassina Anna library. Most libraries do not have amphitheatres, but this one does!
And if you’re not scared of ghosts, head to the cemetery of Bruzzano. It’s one of the biggest and most beautiful in Milan.
If you’re hungry, our recommendation is La bottega della pizza - “The Pizza Shop”. We’d also try Da Mario & Lory for some delicious meats!
Fun fact
Bruzzano has its own soccer team - Bruzzano United - set up by the very guys who play. They just got promoted - Come on you reds!
