This authentic Parish is well outside the tourist hustle, with real locals, really good food, and the 4th best fountain you’ve ever seen. It’s also nice and close to the airport!
But you won’t love this...
It’s not postcard portugal, super-lively or central, but the Metro cuts right through and will get you to Rossio in under 10 minutes.
Will I like living here?...
Lisbon has changed fast. But Areeiro is still has a stately, relaxed grandeur. Alameda is one of the most emblematic squares in Lisbon, and the focal point of the parish.
Lounging around in the vast gardens is a popular pastime for locals on sunny summer days.

Have you seen the fountain? No but seriously, Areeiro is more than just a fountain. It offers a more relaxed Lisbon lifestyle, outside the tourist shuffle. So, water you waiting for? You geyser going to love it. :/

If you see a few seasoned locals with determined looks on their faces, crowded around stone tables in the parks and plazas of Areeiro, they’re probably playing a homemade card game called Sueca.
If you can get in on a game, keep your wits about you. The objective of sueca is to deceive.
