la Sagrada Família apartments for rent
Do it with Europe's number one online medium-term rental platform
"la Sagrada Família
Because I want to live in the shadow of Gaudí’s masterpiece.
You’ll love this...
It’s home to one of Barcelona's (and the world's) architectural treasures.
But you won’t love this...
That architectural treasure draws in about 2.8 million visitors every year. Needless to say, there are some tourist-heavy spots.
Will I like living here?...
Outside the tourist shuffle, things slow down and you’ll find a charming, low-key residential neighbourhood. This little barrio boasts lovely parks, lively bars, Galician seafood taverns, and cute alleyway cafes.
Outside the busy central plaza, the locals rule. Most have lived here for decades and are unfazed by the famous monument that dominates everything else. As one local put it; “Yeah I never really notice it”. (Gaudí rolls over in grave)
And if you’re bored...
Gaudí Ghost Station: An abandoned Metro stop that’s definitely haunted (probably). You might have to bribe someone to get in though.
Google rating: 4.0/5
And this Google review nails it:
“Legend has it that metro passengers have seen mysterious people waiting on the Gaudí station platform for a train that never stops…“ - Poor souls, eternally late for work… that’s a special kind of hell.
Anything else?
The name helps hike the rental prices. But there are some lovely apartments for rent here. And if you’re staying mid to long term it’s a fine place to hang your hat.
And did you know?…
Believe it or not, La Sagrada Família isn’t even nearly finished. Even worse, in 1936 many of the original plans and models were destroyed by anarchists. Some say the new direction has strayed wildly from Gaudí’s original vision.
This 3D Visualisation gives you an idea of the enormity of the project.
