La Dreta de l'Eixample
Your elegant and upscale hideout

Overview
Magisterial architecture.

Buildings raised in praise of God. Buildings raised with freedom of thought. The medieval. The modernist.

"La Dreta de l'Eixample" means "the right side of the Eixample". It's part of the extension to Barcelona built in the late 1800s. L'Eixample is pronounced 'luh-shamp-luh'.

Plaça Catalunya is here. It's the heart of Barcelona life. All buses, metros, footpaths and stories meet here. Probably.

Are you looking for an adorable corner to call home?

Come to La Dreta de l'Eixample.

What can I do here?
Go to Plaça de Catalunya.

There is always something going on here. Ice rinks in winter, cheese fairs in summer. Sit and listen to the falling waters of the fountains. Watch the world go by.

Visit the Sagrada Familia. Marvel at the rainbow interior. Breathtaking. You may not often feel a sense of wonder, but you will here. Especially if you go on a sunny day.

Did someone say shopping?

Grab a suitcase full of €50 notes. You'll need them if you go shopping on on Passeig de Gràcia. It's home to names like Prada, Stella McCartney and Valentino.

Hungry?

Go to La Terraza del Claris. Try botifarra (sausage) and other traditional Catalan tapas, along with a vermouth.

Nice.

Patient fact
Construction on the Sagrada Familia began way back in 1882. But you'll have to wait until 2026 to see the completed building. Patience, my young Padawan.
