So where can you get vegan groceries in this city? The good news is: just about anywhere. El Corte Ingles, a major department store with a large supermarket, has a special bio section where you can find everything you might need – from frozen goodies to vegan mock meat, ice cream, pizza and more. Sometimes, if you’re lucky enough, you can even spot kale.

Planeta Vegano

Although slightly above average pricing, you can find anything you need in here. Based in Lavapies, this store also holds vegan makeup and nutritional yeast.

La Biotika – Ecotienda

La Biotika is a place to go to when you want your grains, vegetables, tofu and miscellaneous food products you can’t find in Planeta Vegano. They’re pretty good at ordering things for you and they have an awesome selection of tofu! (Bonus points: they also have a vegetarian restaurant right next to the shop)

Vega quickly gained its reputation around the block when it opened two years ago. The food here is nothing but delicious and the atmosphere is absolutely phenomenal – a perfect restaurant for your non-vegan friends.

My personal favorite. What’s not to love about this restaurant? From the ‘happy hour para perros’ sign outside to small, but beautifully decorated interior. And don’t let me get started on their menu. You need to see it to believe it.

This popular cake shop isn’t strictly vegan (it is, however, gluten-free), however, you can find vegan cakes on the menu. It’s also a perfect place to spot Spanish footballers – who knew?
