Back in 1969, a rebellion took place among the LGBT community in New York to stop the repression and anti-gay attitude of the government. Since then, the Stonewall uprising has marked the beginning of the worldwide Pride movement. This is why, this summer we are celebrating 50 years since that important day and you can't miss the love pride, wherever you are in Europe!
Where to celebrate this summer?
As we did last year, I'm writing for you a new list of some of the best LGBT pride events in Europe including a few extra LGBT parades to give you more choice when it comes to finding the coolest LGBT Pride Festivals this summer. So, whether you live in London or are planning a weekend in Paris, Berlin or Vienna, I'm sure you'll find something for you in the pride calendar below.
1-15 June - Vienna, Austria
For the 19th time, Vienna will organise an annual Pride Parade and this year it promises to be bigger and better than ever before since it will also be the 2019 host of the EuroPride Festival. A million visitors are expected in Vienna for this year's EuroPride, so if you are there, you are going to have a blast for sure. During the 2 weeks of the festival, Vienna will host a Pride village at the Town Hall Square where lots of activities are organized. Make sure to check the Rainbow Parade on the 15th of June!
