Where is ESADE?
ESADE, one of the most prestigious business schools in Spain, has two campuses, one in Barcelona and one in Sant Cugat, a suburb outside of the city. Many of the school’s programs, including its famous MBA program, are located in Sant Cugat. The Barcelona campus is situated in Pedralbes and right across the street from IESE campus.
Ideal neighborhoods for ESADE students in Barcelona
Gràcia
One of our favorite neighborhoods in Barcelona is Gràcia, since it’s vibrant, young and full of life. Here’s a video made by the Spotahome team:
According to its residents, La Villa de Gràcia is like a small village in the middle of the city. Known as the artsy, bohemian neighborhood, Gràcia is full of small shops, boutiques, and restaurants that serve cuisine from around the world. The area attracts many young people and students, making it a very lively and hip neighborhood. Gràcia boasts famous modernist buildings and is also known for Gaudí’s Parc Güell, which is always great for an afternoon walk.
Make sure to visit during August! During the Fiesta Mayor de Gràcia, residents decorate their neighborhood, fighting over which is the best-decorated street. Their incredible designs will leave you speechless!

When you need to get to class, go to the Gràcia station and take the S1 FGC line. Get off at the Sant Cugat station, which is a 20-minute walk from campus.
L’Eixample
L’Eixample was founded at the beginning of the 20th Century. Here you’ll find historic landmarks such as the bullring of Antaño and Barcelona’s oldest market, the Mercat de Sant Antoni. You can also find the home to the rapidly growing gay community, “Gaixample,” which offers many stores, businesses, and a bustling nightlife.

To get to the Sant Cugat campus, take the S2 FGC line from the Provença station. This will get you to the Sant Cugat station, which is only a short walk from the ESADE campus.
Sant Gervasi
Sant Gervasi is known as the “high zone” of Barcelona, not only for its location at the foot of the Collserola Mountains, but also for being one of the most expensive, affluent areas in all of Spain. As the sister neighborhood of Pedralbes, Sant Gervasi has enchanting parks and gardens and is also a little more happening. It also offers access to the renown bakery Foix and Bar Tomás, where you’ll have to try the spectacular Patatas Bravas.
For those choosing accommodation here, go to the Muntaner station and take the S2 FGC line to the Sant Cugat station. From there, you will be in walking distance of ESADE campus.
Sant Cugat
Sant Cugat is home to many shops, restaurants, and the famous Monastery of Sant Cugat. The town is a 30 minute commute from the city, and there are many lines that service Sant Cugat, as can be seen here.
As a suburb outside of Barcelona, Sant Cugat is less happening than the nearby city. There are many residence halls available where many local students decide to live. But most international students choose to live in Barcelona, which is why the majority of Spotahome’s offerings are in the center of the city.
