Still not sure how to celebrate the new year? Wondering about the best parties? Just relocated to a new city? No worries, Sabri is here to share everything she's learnt from many years celebrating New Year's Eve around Europe.
Best Cities in Europe to Celebrate New Year's Eve in 2019
1. London
Well, London doesn't need any introduction, right? If you are not familiar with the the British capital, check the various articles I've written about my favourite city in the world here.
If you are in London this New Year’s Eve, make sure to have a remarkable one. Gather your friends and head to South Bank to admire the incredible fireworks. Tickets are now sold out, but you can still get a pretty cool view from nearby. Other great viewpoints are Primrose Hill and Hampstead Heath.
2. Paris
Oh! Paris, Paris, mon amour. Paris is always a good idea and even more on New Year’s Eve when it truly becomes, the City of Lights.
So, if you live in Paris, you can either head to the Champs-Élysées where the city’s official street party takes place or you can go to the Sacré Coeur plaza in Montmartre, where you can enjoy an incredible view of the Paris skyline (and fireworks).
There are tons of other options all around town, like the classic Eiffel Tower, watch a show at the Moulin Rouge, or one of the many rooftop parties, masked balls and more...
3. Lisbon
Lisbon is one of the best cities for fireworks since it offers several viewing points. For example, you can head to one of the seven hills or by the Tagus River. Otherwise, you can opt for the big party in Praça do Comércio or the tower Torre de Belem.
But this is not all! If you are looking for something more romantic or quieter, you can book a river boat party or dine at one of the many Michelin-starred restaurants.
4. Berlin
Join one of Europe’s biggest street parties in Berlin. It starts from the iconic Brandenburg Gate and it arrives at the Victory Column. Admission is free and the party atmosphere is amazing. This year, one million people are expected to attend and enjoy DJ sets, live music and light shows.
If you are looking for something else, you might want to head to Kulturbrauerei, where Berlin’s biggest New Year’s Eve party takes place. With one ticket, you will have entrance to 13 different dance floors and 30 DJs.
