4 Healthy but Cheap Restaurants in Milano
GUEST AUTHOR: Lenia Cereda, Spotahome Student Ambassador
I use to be the kind of girl that could wake up have two slices of bread with butter, for lunch a pannini with prosciutto cotto (raw ham) and finally for dinner have a plate of pasta with pesto , yeah you could say that I followed a flour diet, but you can’t blame me, I’m living in Milan, the Land of pastas.
Days went by when I was following the flour diet. One day I was video-chatting with my mom and she said "Hija noto que tus cachetes estan un poco grandes" in order for you to understand, she basically told me that my cheeks looked chubbywe, so I went to look at myself in the mirror and I looked like a chipmunk. I told my mom that I was hanging up and going to buy some lettuce. When I came back for buying my veggies, I searched the following on google: "Cheap healthy restaurants in Milan". After trying many of them I can know share my favourite.
ACAI SISTERS
Source: Facebook
Acai is a type of berry found in palm trees in the Brazilian forest. And in this restaurant they offer you a bowl of different types of mixtures with acai, and I’m telling you, it is a refreshing meal that can fill your tummy for a long time. A bowl can be composed of several things like granola, bananas or strawberries. Also the restaurant is very cute and filled with colors and good music, so it’s also a perfect place to go to study and enjoy a healthy juice. I know that when you read the tittle of healthy juice you tend to put it back to the shelve you took it from, but trust me live a little and try it out, they are so good. Even though this restaurant serves other healthy meals, it is best known for its delicious Acai, so go ahead and try it out!

FRANKIE'S
What is so perfect about Frankie's apart from the their delicious salad menu and their fresh juice is its location. After a walk (or a jog for those who love running) you can go and have a meal at Frankie's since its so close. I remember that the first time I went to Frankies I had my volley practice after, and I needed a quick lunch, Frankie's was a savior because I asked for the menu and after a few minutes of deciding what I wanted, the order was ready. Also the staff at Frankies are very nice and full of recommendations that are on point. If you plan on going to Frankie's I would recommend you to order the salmon salad with and an orange juice, it's the perfect combo.

I LOVE POKE MILANO
I discovered "I Love Poke Milano" one late night while studying macroeconomics. I love color coding my notes and for Macro I love using green colors, and seeing so many green in my notes made me want to order a salad. So I went to the Foodora App and searched for healthy food, and this is the first thing that popped out. I beacame curious and started investigating, I had never seen anything like a poke salad before. I was fascinated at the options I had, and finally I selected a bit of everything. I was anxiously awaiting my salad and when it finally came it was an explosion of flavors, it was amazing and actually a bit sad once my salad was finished. Know every time I open my snapchat I see people posting stories with their textbook and their poke salad, it’s a good study buddy.

THAT'S VAPORE
Whenever you feel like you are missing eating Italian food, go to That's Vapore and enjoy eating pasta mixed with vegetables or a vegan pizza (yeah I know this sounds like you are committing a sin if you eat a vegan pizza in Milan, but trust me its good). Also my first experience in That's Vapore was during the morning, I was walking towards the Duomo and my stomach started growling (yeah I know it seems like Im always hungry) I looked around and read a sign that said "Healthy Smart Food", so I said to myself "Maybe there is some magic in their plates that will help me during the tough exam period" So I went inside and I orderded a mix of berries and yogurt to go. During my walk to the Duomo I was thinking "I definitely feel smart having bought this berry mixture"

Thanks to all this options know I can say that I’m the type of person that wakes up in the morning and for breakfast enjoys a mix of berries, and then for lunch an acai bowl and finally for dinner a Poke bowl. Im not following the flour diet anymore, but of course I still eat my pasta or when gathered with friends I eat a slice of pizza. I have definately started developing a healthier lifestyle and these places help!
